Rube's Steaks: The Original "Grill Your Own" Rube's Steakhouse is a unique place with an even more unique story behind it. Starting from a small restaurant,we have grown to become a nationwide provider of steaks. In 1973 Glen "Rube" Rubenbauer opened a tavern in the small town of Montour, Iowa. Always looking for something new, Rube started serving steaks and then hit on the idea of letting customers grill their own. Soon people were traveling from near and far to grill Rube's hand cut premium steaks. People came not only to eat, but to take these special steaks home for friends and family to enjoy. Rube's has two steakhouses in Iowa with a large varied menu. We have been awarded for our unique environment and high quality food.
